Our goal is to provide solutions of the highest quality and design to visual health professionals throughout the world to protect and improve people’s vision.

We want to consolidate ourselves as the leading marketplace in the marketing and distribution of glasses, ophthalmic lenses, equipment and supplies for visual health professionals throughout the world.

About us

The history of the first marketplace specialized in people’s vision – designed by and for professionals – began with Antonio Romero who, in 1934, founded a laboratory and the Santa Lucía optician in the city of Rosario, Province of Santa Fe, Argentina.

Success did not wait. And after partnering and acquiring Chance Pilkington’s representation in Argentina, Antonio and his partners decided to expand their business horizons and open the TUMO laboratory (Talleres Ultramodernos Ópticos) in the city of Buenos Aires.

Romero’s legacy then continued at the hands of his sons, Carlos and his brother, who continue to provide laboratory services for opticians until this day.

But it was only in 1995 that Kaly Romero, son of Carlos, began his career in the Visual Health industry, venturing into the marketing of supplies and equipment for laboratories, and frames and sunglasses from designers and custom brands.

The third generation also managed to close its first representation and distribution contract for Argentina with the renowned company RODENSTOCK.

At the time, Kaly already had 14 sellers throughout Argentina and branch offices in 2 cities in the main cities of Argentina, Córdoba and Mar del Plata. This growth allowed him to begin exporting to neighboring countries such as Chile, Paraguay and Brazil.

However, the goal was much more ambitious. Kaly sought to extend the business to new horizons and consolidate a leading brand in the field of Visual Health, characterized by the quality and variety of solutions for professionals in the field.

So in 2000, Kaly decided to open a new company in the United States: RG Optics International.

After 22 years of experience, and with the incorporation of the fourth generation into the family business, RG Optics Internacional evolved into Óptica Al Mayor, the first Visual Health marketplace for all of Latin America.
